Museum is Not the Only Great Thing about Ogunquit
Things to do in and around the "Beautiful
Place by the Sea"
do want you to enjoy the Ogunquit Museum of American Art,
but there are a great many other reasons to visit the area. On your
way to or
from the Museum, Ogunquit offers plenty of sightseeing and activities:
Fabulous Maine coast scenery, miles of magnificent sandy beaches, fine
boutiques, summer theater, whale
golf courses, and many more.

are a few of our favorite local attractions:
||Perkins Cove, with its unique draw-footbridge, picturesque fishing boats, and many restaurants and galleries, is walking distance from the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Perkins Cove is where Charles Woodbury opened an art school in the 1880s and began the famous Ogunquit Art Colony. (photo thanks to jmcrichard, Flickr)
of the most beautiful seaside walks in New England, Ogunquit's Marginal
Way stretches 1.5 miles from Perkins Cove to Ogunquit
Beach. It's an easy walk on a paved path, with plenty of benches
to relax on and enjoy the view. Donations accepted. For
