The
3rd Annual OMAA Almost Labor Day Auction
will be Saturday, September 1. 2007
The
most important (and enjoyable) OMAA fundraising event of the year is
the annual Almost Labor Day Auction. Since its inception
in 2005, nearly $100,000 has been raised to benefit the Museum’s
General Operating Fund. Combining a Silent Auction, featuring jewelry,
antiques, electronics, restaurant and shop certificates, and a Live Auction
showcasing outstanding works of art from local and national artists,
this is the “must attend” evening of the Labor Day weekend.
This
year’s OMAA Auction will be held on Saturday, September
1 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm in the Museum’s Sculpture Court
Gallery and the Barn Gallery Associates Wing. Fine wine will be served,
and delicious food will
be provided by The Silver Tureen of Kennebunk.
Once
again Frank
Kaminski of Kaminski Auctions (Beverly, MA and San Diego,
CA, auctions@kaminskiauctions.com)
returns to preside over the Live Auction.
Among
the art works to be auctioned will be a pastel
by Wolf Kahn, prints by Will Barnet and Jamie
Wyeth, a drawing by Alan
Feltus, and a painting by Jeff Fichera. Click
here to see some of the artworks that will be auctioned this year.
Jamie
Wyeth has created for the OMAA auction a one-of-a-kind watercolor
and ink
remarque, which appears in the bottom right margin of his "Islander" print in
the auction. This remarque appears at the top of this page. You can
view the Islander print on the auction
artwork preview page.
Admission to the Auction will be a contribution of $40 for an individual, $75 for
two, and $100 for a patron. Space is limited and tickets will
be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Images of all art works
to be
auctioned will be available for viewing on this web site by August
1. Bids will be taken by phone until August 31 – No bids will be accepted
by phone on the day of the Auction. (VISA and MasterCard only are accepted)
