The 7th Annual OMAA Almost Labor Day Auction will be Saturday, September 3, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Below you will find a list of some of the artworks that will be auctioned off at this year's Live Auction. These artworks are now on display at the Museum. Click here to preview and bid on some of the Silent Auction items. Three very special non-artwork items are included on both the Live and Silent pages:

How to Bid Before the Auction: You may place a one-time bid with the Museum by phone 207-646-4909 or click here to email (auction (at) ogunquitmuseum.org). You may also visit the Museum, where the artworks are now on display, and place a bid there. No telephone or email bids can be accepted while the Auction is being conducted.

This year’s White Glove Fund provides repair and restoration for two of the Museum’s most beloved sculptures, Bernard Langlais’ Bear and Lion, located on the Museum’s grounds. You will help put the claws back on the Bear and the roar in the Lion by contributing generously to the fund. This year, the Bernard Langlais Conservation Fund will match every dollar raised to restore these magnificent sculptures.

Charles Woodbury (1864 - 1940) was an internationally known marine painter and teacher, whose summer school helped establish the famous Ogunquit Art Colony. His work is found in many public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Later in life Woodbury spent the winters in the Caribbean, painting and etching the local scenery. This etching is a gift of Peter and Barbara Woodbury.
