The 5th Annual Almost Labor Day Auction at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) proved once again to be a highlight of the Museum’s fund-raising activities, making a significant contribution to the expense of operating the Museum’s programs and facility. More than 100 guests and patrons attended the Auction on September 5th and came away with exquisite original works of art and Silent Auction items donated by members of the local community and Museum Trustees, members, and friends.

The Ogunquit Museum of American Art thanks all of those who attended, participated, and supported the event. Frank Kaminski once again directed the Live Auction. Artists who provided work for the live auction include: Gary Akers, Will Barnet, Tim Beavis, Mary-Leigh Smart donor of works by Ethelwyn C. Bradish and Mary B. The Board and Museum Director Ron Crusan also thank all of those who donated items for the Silent Auction, including those who created original Art Boxes: Betsy Wish, Guido Garaycochea, Rosalind Fedeli, Grant Drumheller, Panache, Hannah Crouthamel of The Farm, Anne Gately, Dewitt Hardy, Lincoln Perry, Kate Doyle, Tim Ellis, The Old Village Inn/ Dean Goodman, and Michael Kinslea; Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort/Jennifer Moores, Clay Hill Farm Restaurant/Donna Lewis, The Ogunquit Playhouse/Cheryl Farley, LGOriginal/Louise Gerstenblatt, Barbara Hopkins, Albert Pelletier, Carol Powley, Randa Charland, Judith Woodbury, The Clown, York/Priscilla Schwartz, Café Prego/York Harbor Inn/Jeffrey S. Porter, Joli Greene, Paul Beauregard, Tuveson Studios/Jared Tuveson, 98 Provence, Oxygen, Ron and Sally Crusan.

Thanks are also due to the many business and individuals who made generous donations and continue to support the Auction and to the many volunteers who ensured the event and its many component tasks ran smoothly.

“Although this was my first Auction at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, it is clear that it has become a key social event of the summer season and is our most important fundraiser,” said Ron Crusan, Museum Director. “The efforts of everyone involved in the Auction -- the artists and many other donors, the community who helped us promote the event, the Board, Committee and volunteers who donated hundreds of hours to making it a success and, of course, those who attended and contributed to our coffers – helped ensure that we will continue to bring the very best in American art to our thousands of visitors and the local communities we serve.”
