Be
sure to set aside the evening of September 2, 2006 for the museum's second
annual "Almost Labor Day Auction." The much-anticipated
benefit event begins with a Silent Auction from 5:00 to 6:30. Included
in the Silent Auction will be a marvelous assortment of items (too numerous
to mention here), ranging from Broadway tickets, jewelry, items for the
home, antiques, health and beauty items, a 5-year family membership to
the OMAA, and more. Then from 7:00 to 8:00, Frank
Kaminiski of Kaminiski Auctions in Beverly, Massachusetts will preside over a Live Auction offering
a fabulous selection of fine art created by regionally and nationally
recognized artists.
Artists
whose work will be auctioned off will include: Eric
Aho, Tim Beavis, Dosier Bell, MJ Blanchett, Michael Culver, Cabot Lyford,
Michael Palmer, Lincoln Perry, Rover Solotaire, Wendy Turner, Neil Welliver
and Charles H. Woodbury. Click
here to see some of the artworks to be auctioned.
All
art works can be viewed on this website beginning August 1st.
If you cannot come to the Live Auction, arrangements can be made to accept
a one-time bid on art works by contacting OMAA curator, Michael Culver,
at 207-646-4909. (No telephone bids can be accepted while the Auction
is being conducted.)
Admission
to the Auction will be a contribution of $35 (individuals) and $75
(patrons). Since space is limited, tickets will be sold on a first
come, first served basis. All Auction patrons will be recognized
in the event catalog. We encourage you to invite your family and
friends in support of the Museum.
There
will be delicious food provided by Kennebunk's The Silver Tureen, as will
as fine wines, games, and musical entertainment. Both
auctions will be held in the Museum itself. Parking in the Museum lots
will be on a first come, first served basis, but additional parking will
be available at St. Peter's Church at 700 Shore Road. Transportation to
and from St. Peter's will be provided by the Museum. All
proceeds from this event will be used to benefit the Museum's exhibitions
and programs. |
