Thank you for a successful
7th Annual
Almost Labor Day Auction!
It was the social event of the season.
Saturday,
September 3rd, 2011 was the OMAA’s 7th
annual Almost Labor Day Auction. The auction is the Museum’s premier art and social event, featuring fine food and wine, and artworks by 50 national and regional artists in live and silent auctions. It is also the Museum’s primary fundraiser for the year. All Proceeds go to benefit the OMAA. Since
its inception in 2005, the Almost Labor Day Auction has raised nearly a
quarter of a million dollars to benefit the Museum’s General Operating Fund.
Artist Will Barnet, celebrating his 100th birthday in 2011, was featured as the Signature Artist for the OMAA’s 7th annual Almost Labor Day Auction. Mr. Barnet is a celebrated American artist of international renown. He has been at the forefront of American art for over seven decades (click here to visit Will Barnet’s website). We were honored to have his work as our signature artist, and we congratulate him on the celebration of his 100th birthday.
We want to thank all those who helped the Museum's 2011 Auction reap rewards that will appreciate well into next year's operating season. We sold fabulous Silent Auction items, met new friends (and old) in those last minutes viewing the artworks before they went under the gavel, and then enjoyed the thrill of the chase at the skilled hands of auctioneer Stuart Slavid.
