Be sure to set aside the evening of Saturday, August 30, 2008 for the OMAA’s “Almost Labor Day Auction.” Known as one of the premiere art and social events of the summer season, the annual fundraising event will begin with a Silent Auction from 5-6:15 pm. In this portion of the evening’s activities, an unusually wonderful variety of items will be offered to bidders. In addition, this year six Adirondack chairs decorated by a half dozen of Maine’s most popular artists will also be offered during the Silent Auction. See pictures of the chairs on the auction preview page.

From 6:30-7:30, auctioneer Frank Kaminski of Kaminski Auctions of Beverly, Massachusetts will once again masterfully direct the much-anticipated Live Auction. During this segment of the evening a dazzling array of art works by national and regional artists will be up for sale. Included in this year’s auction will be works by Isabel Bishop, Maryelle Braunstein, Rudolph Dirks, John Dirks, Jeff Fichera, Gertrude Fiske, George Kunkle, John Laurent, Eliot O’Hara, and Robert Vickrey. There will be delicious food and fine wines and games.

By August 1, all art works in the Live Auction and the Adirondack chairs can be viewed on the Museum’s web site – www.ogunquitmuseum.org. If you cannot come to the Live Auction, arrangements can be made to accept a one-time bid on art work and chairs by contacting the OMAA curator at 207-646-4909, or at ogunquitmuseum@aol.com. (No telephone or email bids can be accepted the day of the Auction.)

Admission to the Auction will be a contribution of $50 per individual and $100 per patron. Since space is limited, tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Parking for the auction will be at the Cape Neddick Country Club, 650 Shore Road, Ogunquit, with complimentary shuttle service.
